“Ask the Author” Series Coming This Fall
You may be wondering where exactly I’ve been these last couple of months.
To be honest, I’m not sure that even I can that.
I know that between trips to the beach and piles of laundry I published my second book, How to Be a Moon, which is a project 2+ years in the making. (Cue mini dance party!!!) I’ve also kept three small children alive in the fray that is summer vacation. (Cue second dance party with a nap at the end!!!)
I’ll be honest, I got a teensy bit over busy there for awhile. After precariously stacking speaking opportunities at church, sundry guest posts for fellow bloggers, and planning my first ever book launch party, I got a lot overwhelmed and a little out of touch on my own blog.
I’ve been doing what I’m passionate about, but also realizing the need to find freedom in my human limitations. (And, no, I don’t think that’s a contradiction.)
There’s freedom in knowing that I can’t accomplish everything WELL, so as I head into the fall I’m looking to make sure that I’m choosing my roles and responsibilities carefully. Overcommitting can transform passions into burdens, but living purposefully allows me to not only DO what I love, but ENJOY what I love.
I’m taking the next few weeks to explore the WHY behind what I do as a writer and beyond, and what vision God may have for “Less to be More.” I’ll be sharing a few more guest posts on my facebook page through the end of August, so I hope you’ll check those out, but I won’t be posting regularly here until September.
Which brings me to my next UPDATE! Starting in September, I plan to host a 4 week series called “Ask the Author” where I address any questions you may have about writing, blogging, self-publishing, and beyond. I’m posting to my FB page as well, but I’ll be accepting questions for the next 3 weeks (through August 31st). Seriously, whether you have questions about writing while parenting, what self-publishing platform I used, what my biggest mistakes have been, how I grew my book launch team, or why I’d rather eat coleslaw than write without editors, nothing is off limits!!
Whether you are interested in writing your own book or just curious about the behind the scenes author process, my goal is to combine helpful information with personal stories.
Feel free to post questions here following this blog, or post/message on my FACEBOOK PAGE!! I’ll also be sharing a contest or two, so stay tuned for details. 🙂
I look forward to connecting, and in the meantime I hope you’re enjoying your summer!
Which reminds me…I have to find where I put those three kids so we can head to the park…
