Do You Need Some Moon Training?

Do You Need Some Moon Training?

I’ve spent the last two years working on a book about the moon. and God. and you and me.

I’m pretty much a moon fanatic, and all my time writing this book has only made me love the moon more.  What I love about the moon is its ability to be breathtakingly beautiful without. even. trying.  A moon just sits, and rests, and lights up the world simply by being what it was made to be: a reflector.

That’s what we were made for.  To know that our worth isn’t dependent on us.  To reflect God.  And to be a powerful light in our generation as a result.

Do you struggle with your worth?  Do you wrestle between what the world says about your significance and what God says?  Do you struggle to measure your goodness, your ministry, your parenting, your success against others?

If you aren’t sure if the moon has anything to teach you, I challenge you to answer some of these questions straight from the book:

  • Do you feel like you are enough if you never accomplish anything more in your life?
  • Are you constantly comparing yourself to other people wondering if you measure up?
  • Would you feel less valuable if you suddenly lost a position, role or relationship?
  • Do you find that your emotions rise and fall with every compliment or criticism?
  • Is your desire to serve others sometimes eclipsed by your desire to matter to others?
  • Can you think of specific people you are striving to get approval from?
  • Are you afraid you’ll shine too much or too little to make God happy?

If some of those questions caused you to hunt for a paper bag to breathe into, I can relate.  I’ve frequently found myself trying to measure my worth, know I’m enough, and make God and others happy.  And I’m ready to be free from all that.  Maybe you’re ready to be free too.

If so, stay tuned!  I plan to release my “How to Be a Moon” book in July this year!  By following my blog or on my facebook page, you’ll be able to get the latest updates on book release date, book launch, giveaways and more!

May we all learn to live fully and freely as moons reflecting our Maker.  (I can’t wait!)
